About Us
An educator’s answer to a gap she couldn’t ignore.

CO-FOUNDER & HEAD COACH
Vahini Elansezhiyan
Vahini holds a BSc in Human Factors in Safety from SUSS and began her career in the chemical industry, but she wanted work that meant more. She found it in special education.
For nearly a decade, she taught in two SPED schools, working with children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, in classrooms, in small groups and one to one. Along the way, she earned a Diploma in Special Education from NIE and trained further in behaviour support, communication and sensory needs.
The more time she spent with these children and their families, the clearer one thing became. They were almost never offered a place in enrichment.
Most children can choose from a dozen art, music or sports classes. The children Vahini taught had almost none. The few options that existed weren't designed with them in mind. Parents told her the same stories again and again: their child had been turned away, hadn't coped, or they had simply stopped trying. Even when a suitable class existed, getting there could be its own obstacle: the traffic across Singapore, the unfamiliar room, the crowded waiting area.
These children weren't missing out because they couldn't enjoy art or music. They were missing out because no one had built enrichment for them.
So Vahini did. SparkleSprouts brings enrichment designed from the ground up for these children to the one place they already feel safe: their own home.
She personally designs every programme, from the curriculum and session guides to the adaptations and coach training. Her background in safety shapes the safeguarding standards behind every session, and her years in SPED classrooms shape everything else: what truly works for these children, and what doesn't. As Head Coach, she oversees coach selection and training, and the quality of every session SparkleSprouts delivers.
Who we support
SparkleSprouts is designed for children aged 7 to 12 with diverse learning needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental profiles. Our programmes are a particularly strong fit for children who:
- Thrive with 1:1 attention and find group settings overwhelming or inaccessible
- Have sensory preferences that mainstream programmes do not accommodate
- Feel most comfortable and confident in their own home environment
- Have been turned away from, or struggled in, mainstream enrichment classes
- Deserve enrichment experiences built for them, not adapted around them as an afterthought

Register Your ChildWhy enrichment matters
Every parent knows their child is more than a diagnosis and more than a report card. But for many children with diverse learning needs, the opportunities to discover what they love (art, music, cooking, movement, technology) are limited. Mainstream enrichment classes are built for mainstream learners. Therapy addresses clinical goals. School focuses on academics. Somewhere in between, the simple joy of exploring and discovering gets lost.
That is the gap SparkleSprouts fills.
Enrichment gives children the chance to try things, to find out what they enjoy, and to experience themselves as capable: without tests, without targets, and without pressure to perform. For neurodivergent children especially, these experiences build a sense of self grounded in strength and joy rather than difficulty and intervention.
Our sessions prioritise participation over performance, curiosity over compliance, and discovery over drilling.
Eight principles behind every session
Every Child Deserves Access to Enrichment
Enrichment should not be a privilege reserved for children who fit the mould of mainstream classes. Every child deserves the chance to explore, discover and grow.
Child-Led Exploration
Our coaches follow each child's interests and curiosity rather than imposing a fixed agenda. The child leads; we make the path safe and rich.
Strengths First
We start with what a child enjoys and does well, and use that foundation to gently expand their world.
No “Fixing” Mentality
Your child does not need to be fixed. We embrace neurodiversity fully and respect exactly who each child is.
Gentle Exposure
New experiences are introduced gradually, at a pace each child can genuinely manage. Confidence built slowly is confidence that lasts.
Calm, Not Overstimulating
Every activity is designed to engage without overwhelming, always mindful of each child's sensory profile.
Every Child's Interests Matter
Whether a child lights up at paint, drums, cooking or coding, we honour those interests and build from them.
Helping Children Discover What Works for Them
Through varied, well-designed experiences, children discover what helps them feel engaged, calm, capable and proud.
What makes SparkleSprouts different
Built for neurodivergent learners, not adapted for them
Every programme, activity and material is designed from the ground up for children with diverse learning needs.
Enrichment, not tuition, not therapy
We don't drill academics or deliver clinical intervention. We provide the enjoyable, developmental experiences in between.
Coaches, not tutors
Our coaches guide from beside, not from the front: encouraging exploration, following your child's lead, knowing when to step in and when to step back.
Your home is the classroom
No transition anxiety, no sensory overload from a new space, no energy spent coping instead of engaging.
A complete journey, not random activities
Every programme is a designed 10-session arc from safe exploration to genuine pride.
Relationship before everything
The first sessions are about one thing: your child feeling safe with their coach. We never rush this.
Our coaches
Our coaches have professional experience with children with diverse learning needs; many come from special education. Every coach is trained in the SparkleSprouts approach, follows our detailed session guides, agrees to our Child Safeguarding Policy and undergoes background verification. We select them as much for warmth and patience as for qualifications.
What we are not
SparkleSprouts is enrichment, not therapy or clinical intervention. We do not diagnose, treat, or replace the work of therapists. Many families use us alongside therapy, and with your consent we're happy to align with the approaches your child's therapists use.
